Shalom, bibliophiles! As promised, even with my illness and other problems, I'm trying to vlog a bit. It's hard for me to be happy or stay focused, but I hope the vlogging gives me a bit of an escape, for a few minutes, and brings news, to family and friends, of my growing book and comic book collection. Let's see what goodies I scored:

That was an eclectic set of comic books and books, eh? I'm going to rebag most, after I start reading them. I'm having trouble reading, lately, because the stress (and skin condition) doesn't allow me the ability to sit still for long periods, sadly.

Christmas Comic "Book" Update, 2013

Shalom, bibliophiles. Lately, my life has been downright terrible, sadly. Beyond my own health problems, which have kept me from vlogging (and working), I have family problems. As a result, I've had to limit my vlogging time. 

Tonight, alone, on Christmas, I decided to open two packages of books that arrived months ago, so let's see what I scored:

Wow, those were awesome! I just hope my health improves and family matters simmer down (and folks heal), so I can have the time to read. Of late, I've not been reading anything (although I did start reading some Gambit and X-Men, I put those down because I'm just too darn sad).

Book Update from 11-8-13

Shalom, bibliophiles! Yes, I'm "back." Well, I've not been "gone," but I've been sick and unable to spend time shooting and posting vlog entries. Yes, my skin disease became bad and the medication I chose to take made me drowsy and depressed (I, actually, blacked out a few times and fell down, sadly); I never did go to the doctor, either (no money and no health insurance, sigh). Moreover, during the past few weeks, I've also had to try to grade my university students' term papers and, then, final exams, and that added to my problems (probably stressed me out). 

Any way, here's a vlog entry about books I scored back on November 8, 2013:

That was an awesome small score of books. I'm still having trouble bending my fingers (took 15 minutes to write this stuff), and the doctor told me to "take it easy" with bending them, but the rest of me is better (wish I could bend my fingers fast enough to type efficiently, since I make money from typing, i.e. I write my lectures, do grading, and teach writing).

I was placed on new medication, and I am now deep in the middle of grading final exams; however, that medication has made me feel better (and look better too), so I am taking a break from grading to post this video. Book and Comic Book Update 1-3-13 (#1)

Shalom, bibliophiles! This is the first vlog entry of the new year. I bought some comics and books, and I will chat about them. In addition, I briefly talk about a research project that I started, over ten years ago, but never completed; it was one that I really liked (about leisure time activities of working class peoples) and hoped to bear fruit (i.e. conference papers, articles, and maybe even my dissertation), but it did not (long story). Any way, let's see what I mean:

Well, I hope that my rant about the research project was not too much of a tangent; it makes me sad, most of the time, when I talk about it. Sigh.

Comic Book Update Night of 12-29-12 Part 2

Shalom, bibliophiles! Well, it took me a few extra days to get this second part edited and posted, in part, because I was working on getting my winter courses ready for my university students (and, in part, because I work inefficiently when I am depressed, which I am). This part of the comic book update is exclusively covering DC comic book and those related to the Justice League. Let's see what I mean:
