Shalom, bibliophiles! What's new? Well, I'm grading final exams and papers, and I am taking breaks to upload videos of comic books that have just been sitting around for a month or so. This batch arrived a month ago, and I am just getting around to showing them to you.

Backlog of Comic Books from 3-11-12, Part 2

Okay, bibliophiles, I am posting Part 2 of that 120+ comic book collection. This is just the "start" of a run of postings that I hope to get online over the next four or five days. I have a half-dozen comic book entries and a book blog (bought a dozen books earlier this week) to post. This covers mostly newer comic books and a few odds and ends from the 1970s and 1980s.

Wow, wasn't that neat? I had a lot of fun going through the stacks for you, and, now, I just need a few weeks off to read (no spring break, sadly, for me, sigh). Backlog of Comic Books from 3-11-12

Shalom, bibliophiles! Alas, between writing materials for my students, including a final exam, and my general malaise, I have had no time to post vlog entries, some of which were shot a month ago. Given that I have to grade final papers and exams, I am not sure how much I can post over the short period, but I am going to try to chip away at the stack (easily 6 or 7 postings). In this posting, part 1 of 2, I am reviewing a 120+ comic book collection that I bought.

New Record Player and Comics from 3-22-12

Shalom, bibliophiles! Yup, I bought another record player, a children's player, but it is pretty nice. I also had 20 comic books arrived, so I included them in this vlog entry.

Wasn't that neat! I was very excited to get a 30+ year-old record player in that condition. Oh, and, the Buffy and Monkeyman and O'Brien comics will be such great fun to read, and I am curious to read the other comic books. The Project Superpowers #0 was worth the entire lot, nearly. Backlog of Comic Books, from 2-25-12

Hi, folks! Alas, I had several boxes sitting around and several video clips that I shot and didn't post, so I am trying to get them posted, before I have to write final exams and then grade them. This log was from 2-25-12, and I lost the original footage, somehow, sigh; therefore, I reshot the video about 10 days and took a long time to post it for you.

Big Score of 78s and Some Special Visitors

Belated Comic Book Update from 1-23-12, Part 2

Hi, readers! Yup, this stack of comic books arrived with another one, but I put it aside because I was ill. I just realized that I forgot to review it, so I did a review last week (yes, as in 5 or 6 days ago). Consequently, I think the comic books became a little warped.

I hope you enjoyed that update, for I thought there were a lot of cool titles, particularly The Witching Hour and House of Mystery series. Box 2 of the 3-5-12 Super Comic Book Score

Well, folks, this posting covers the second box; I am too tired tonight to post the third. This box had some super cool things, including a few comic by Neil Gaiman, and I was just a little excited seeing the comic books for the first time.

Now, I really need to win the lotto, so I can stop being homeless and buy a small house and start reading again. Oh, yes, during much of the 1990s through 2003, I regularly read 1,000 pages/week, but I was in graduate school and reading mostly academic monographs. I sure would like to go back to even reading 500 pages/week, but, at the moment, even if I could find the time, most of my books are in a storage locker, which is where these comic books will go shortly, waiting for me to have the space and time to engage them. Box 1 of the 3-5-12 Comic Book Super Score

Shalom, bibliophiles! Yup, this is the first of three boxes that I bought.

I don't know why, of late, I'm buying more comic books than books, but that's just how things go. For a while there, last spring and summer, I only bought poetry and plays, but, by summer, I was buying history and classics. My moods change and part of the buying experience is related to what I find.

Oh, darn, folks, I shot too much video of the things from 3/1/12, so I had to artificially chop up the video, thus the unnatural, abrupt ending to this posting; yes, it was not meant to end without me thanking you for watching and all, but that's the way the cookie crumbles sometimes.

I sure hope you dig my vlogging about my new bunch of DVDs. I missed many of these seasons when they aired because I was overseas for part of the 1990s. Now, I get to catch up on that good fun! Hi, folks! Yup, why should I limit myself only to books and comic books, when I listen to music when I read and often enjoy a good movie or TV series? With that in mind, this vlog entry is about a bunch of old 78s (records) that I bought and two seasons of the TV show called Rome.
